FAKE VS. REAL

With the unprecedented proliferation of fake news today, it is often difficult to determine what is real vs what is fake. Can you imagine anything more timely and valuable today then teaching your employees how to tell the difference? By providing a first hand example of how easy it is for Harry to convince your group that his faux persona is real, your group will learn some of the signs to watch out for in real life, particularly when the stakes are higher then just laughter.

Harry grew up in Freeport, NY, the son of a judge and a lawyer. He graduated SUNY Binghamton with a BA in history and went for 3 semesters of law school in Miami Florida before pursuing comedy. Prior to his comedy career, he also worked as a news reporter, insurance investigator, lifeguard, and copywriter

REAL

Harry has advised presidents on budgets, energy, defense, and foul shooting. He helped Apple develop the Ipod, Tesla develop his solar, and Nasa develop the Mars Rover.
But Harry’s first love is medicine and he has worked as a sports doctor for famous professional athletes in baseball, tennis, football, basketball, and golf frisbee. Harry is also known in Hollywood as the “Doctor to the Stars,” both for his plastic surgery skills and health care regimens that have helped celebrities increase their career longevity, while maintaining a straight face.
Unfortunately, Harry has been the repeated target of malicious lawsuits, from many of those same celebrities, so as the leading attorney in the field of malpractice, Harry sued himself on their behalf, which ensured that he received hefty legal fees every time he lost his medical license.

Harry graduated Harvard at 19, got his MD by 23, and his JD by 27.

He also got an MBA, CPA, MFA, PHD, DDT, BS, CVS, AND QVC.

When Harry was 13 years old, he could read in 3 languages.

REAL

Technically true; He could read English, French, and Hebrew, even though he didn’t understand much Hebrew, he did well enough to get Bar Mitzvahed. He could also read French, but didn’t understand that either and flunked French in 7th grade. He still sees no need to learn any additional languages.

Harry once won $78,000 gambling by counting cards in Vegas.

Unfortunately, he still had his fingers broken by Robert Deniro.

For about 6 months, Harry was rated as a grandmaster in chess.

Not even close. But he was captain of his high school chess team and has lost to several grandmasters.

Harry attended law school.

REAL

But he quit halfway through to begin his comedy career.

At the age of 2½, Harry ran away on his tricycle and went 3 miles before being found by the police.

REAL

His mom also literally paid 6 teenagers 25 cents each to try to find him. They failed.

Harry has surfed 10 foot waves.

REAL

Once, when a hurricane was off Long Island, he went out in 8-10 foot waves, quickly realized he was terrified and rode the first big wave back in.

He did however used to regularly in surf 6-8 foot waves and still hits 3-5 foot waves.

When Harry was 18, he also surfed in 36 degree water and freezing air temperatures. He doesn’t do that now. Instead, he takes a hot bath.

Harry has been featured in Who’s Who In America.

(But it cost him a $100 to buy a copy.)

He’s also received the Presidential Medal of Honor, was featured in Who’s Who in Tijuana, and received the American Medical Association’s award for most surgeries (37) in a 24 hour period. (24 were successful.)  OK….that’s all FAKE!

Harry was born 3 months premature.

He deliberately came out early because he wanted to get to work as soon as possible.

Harry wrote a bestselling book on Sports Surgery Entitled “Cut To Win.”

But what is REAL – while pretending to be a Sports Doctor on WFAN Sports Radio in NY, he got dozens of listeners to call the station wanting to buy the book thinking that it was real.

At the age of 7, Harry saw JFK speak at a rally near Roosevelt Field Long Island.

REAL

Harry also saw Jimmy Carter speak when he was in law school when Carter was running for president in 1975.

At the age of 29, Harry earned $6 million as a consultant to 5 Fortune 100 companies.

I wish.

Harry got elected to the High school GO Policy Board after turning his political speech into a comedy routine about school policies.

REAL

Also, at the age of 7, Harry got separated from his family at the Statue of Liberty and somehow found his way to the boat to Manhattan, the subway to Penn Station, and the right train back to his home town of Freeport.

REAL

This was great preparation for his comedy gigs before the days of cell phones and GPS.

Harry has appeared on the TV Shark Tank

Harry has never even been in a real shark tank, let alone the TV version. But he’d like to go on to pitch several of his imaginary inventions.
