Toasts/Roasts and More

TOASTS/ROASTS • PUNCHUPS • PERFORMANCE COACHING

As a comedy writer, Harry has served on the staff for “Carolines Comedy Hour,” has written for Showtime Specials and sold a story idea to “Everybody Loves Raymond.” In the corporate world, he has punched up material for Humana Healthcare, Coopers and Lybrand, and “Instant Negotiator” (a program taken to over 60 cities) and many others. Harry has also taught comedy writing and performing classes at The Manhattan Punch Line, CW Post and S.U.N.Y Farmingdale. He has coached executives, housewives and stand-up comics in the art of creating, polishing and delivering humor to get the most out of their material. As a result, Harry is available to either punch-up previously written material, create new material from scratch or any combination of the two. Having served prior to his comedy career as a staff writer for a number of publications, Harry is also able to write comedic or straight material for speeches and articles.

What clients have to say.

“You provided an excellent service for our department by writing a humorous speech for our director to use in opening up our annual training session. The speech was well received, and provided a good beginning for a successful week.
Your style of working is complementary to the needs of the corporate client. In a corporate setting, using humor has the potential to be enormously beneficial, but there is a downside if used inappropriately. You supported our concerns by encouraging a participative process, which allowed you to understand our business, our goals, and our sensitivities. You were flexible by providing different options for sections of the speech, and by incorporating suggestions and inside jokes from our department staff. You met our tight deadlines, which gave us the opportunity to make any edits. Plus, you wrote funny stuff.
I would certainly hire you again if the need arises, and would recommend you to others.
